❗️Saturday will be the first time in the history of Iowa State football that ESPN’s College Gameday will be hosting their show there.
🌪If you know anything about college football, you know that when College Gameday comes to town that it’s more than just a game. It’s a once in a lifetime experience for the entire university, community, and alumni worldwide.
⚠️For the players, this national attention can serve as a huge distraction. In preparation for the big game Iowa Sate’s head coach Matt Cambell to say, “Sometimes, especially with environments like this, you can so easily get lost in the hoopla up to the game and miss the game. That’s a great challenge for our team, especially for our program where we really haven’t been in a lot of these situations.”
📈5 years ago Iowa State won just two games, and they were the laughing stock of the Big XII, but because of their hard work and commitment to Cambell’s process, they have created once in a lifetime opportunities like hosting College Gameday for their program.
📠Coach Cambell is warning his team to not allow the success their hard work has produced to become the very distraction that prevents them from leveling up, and as we fight the battles that stand between us and the success that God has for us we too should take heed to that warning!
🔑Neither us nor the Iowa State football team came this far just to get this far! In the Bible verse, attached God warned and prepared Joshua. Joshua went on to level up and three-peat. Had Joshua not stayed locked in on God’s game plan and instead became distracted by “the hoopla” he would have never been able to carry out God’s winning game plan, and the same will hold true for us be in athletics, or, more importantly in our life’s journey!

📖Joshua 1 (NLT)Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do.

📖Joshua 1 (MSG)7Make sure you carry out The Revelation that Moses commanded you, every bit of it. Don’t get off track, either left or right, to make sure you get to where you’re going.
